This page explains how Stargaze can make one object
in the sky leave a trail so you can see how its position has changed
over time.
This option is usually used during stepping.
Display the Time lapse
settings dialogue box...

Select
the Trace check-box.
Click
on the map to choose an object for tracing...

The trace is a series of small red crosses.
What it shows depends upon the type of map being viewed.
The trail shows how an object has moved relative to...
...your local horizon - if the Local map is being displayed.
...the background of fixed stars - on the Northern or Southern sky maps.
To
clear the trace click Clear trace in the Map menu.
Cancel
tracing by un-checking Trace in the Time lapse settings dialogue
